Global Transformations in 2026: Geopolitical and Economic Challenges for Asia and Europe
We cordially welcome you to the Conference on the Republic of Korea and Central Europe Cooperation, organized by the Center for Asian Studies (CAS) in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Czech Republic and the Faculty of International Relations, Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE).
The conference explores the major economic and geopolitical transformations shaping the global landscape in 2026, with particular attention to their implications for Asia and Europe. Recent developments in the Middle East, continuing conflicts and geopolitical tensions, disruptions to energy and trade flows, and changing relations among major powers are creating new challenges for the global economy and international relations. At the same time, trade fragmentation, technological competition and concerns over economic and energy security are reshaping patterns of international cooperation. Bringing together experts from South Korea and Europe, the conference will examine how these developments affect both regions, how governments and economies are responding, and what they may mean for the evolving global economic and political order.
